Perfect Family Spot
Fort Walton Beach is just a perfect spot for a family getaway. The beaches are clean with that famous white sand, and it's not overwhelmingly crowded like other spots. We loved the laid-back feel. Great place to unwind and let the kids play.
Great Fishing Pier
Had a great time fishing off the Okaloosa Island Pier. The local anglers were friendly and gave some good tips. The water is so clear you can see the fish swimming below. It's a very relaxing place to spend the morning, even if you don't catch much.
Beautiful Sandy Escape
Fort Walton Beach was a wonderful escape from the cold. The sugar-white sands are as beautiful as everyone says. We spent our days just soaking up the sun and enjoying the calm gulf waters. The fresh grouper sandwiches are a must-try at the local spots!
Fun Beyond the Beach
More to do here than just sunbathe. We went paddleboarding in the sound, which was super calm and beautiful. The whole area around The Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island is fun, with plenty of places to eat and watch the sunset over the water.
So Incredibly Peaceful
The emerald-green water is just incredible. I found it to be a very peaceful destination, perfect for long walks on the beach. The sunsets are something special, painting the whole sky. It's a great place to clear your head and just be.
Cool History Here
Came for the beach but was really impressed by the Air Force Armament Museum. It's a fantastic collection and a great way to spend an afternoon away from the sun. The military heritage is very present and adds another layer to the area's story.
